About Me

James’ life-changing injury didn’t turn him into a quitter.

It made him more determined to persevere and to inspire the world to accept and conquer challenges in life. Whether associations, organizations, churches, or schools; James delivers with humility, humor, and gratitude. His wit engages audiences as they hear his inspirational  story and strips away excuses for anyone not achieving goals.

Dr. James Perdue is an expert on resilience, using an optimistic attitude, and developing a positive mental agility while overcoming adversity despite what life has thrown his way. As a thought building specialist on positive expectancy and using personal inner strength from within, James educates leaders and teams on how to rebound from life’s inevitable setbacks, adapt to circumstances while adjusting to changes, and maximum productivity throughout life.

The ABC's of Perseverance

With today’s perception of relentless change, we can’t shine our light with fear of failing because of the “old ways” of thinking. It takes courage to change with the times but it takes a powerful positive mentality to stay ahead of the curve. “The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails,” William Arthur Ward once quoted.

By using the A,B, and C’s, James teaches . . .

  • Be the brave one in the group so others will follow your lead.
  • Anyone can complain about change but the ones who take action during challenge times will be successful.
  • Change is inevitable so focus on conquering the challenge.

The 5 P's to Leadership

James is a perfect example of “life’s not fair!” An athlete standout with a desire to play professional baseball, an injury reset his course in life. Instead of wallowing in his self-piety of mud like a pig, James focused on making the best of a bad situation. In this presentation, Dr. Perdue teaches the audience his five important P’s that enabled him to gain the strength to overcome adversity. The audience will learn . . .

  • Purpose – discover your reason in life.
  • Personal Responsibility – be accountable for your actions.
  • Perseverance – keep moving forward; even if it’s at a snail’s pace.
  • Partners – you can’t do it alone.
  • Power of Prayer – Power from within

One key to success is having the ability to be a problem solver. However, having creativity skills is not enough. For success to dance like a spider on a hotplate, being a dreamer along with executing perseverance is essential. T.E. Lawrence said it best, “All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.” James uses humor to teach others how to master these important skills in life and business. He will educate . . .

  • Develop a positive mindset to attain vital creative research to succeed.
  • When unexpected circumstances present itself step up to the challenge with confident to achieve more than you ever thought.
  • Design a “Yes, I can attitude!”
